I was commissioned to produce some animations for Miracle’s Theatre play: “Cat’s Cradle” inspired by the homonymous Kurt Vonnegut’s book.

The aim of these animations is to illustrate the ‘calypsos’ of Bokononism, the fictitious religion created by Vonnegut and practiced by the characters in the book.

Flash application

In order to illustrate the concept of “Duffel” I developed a small program in Flash that could generate a cascade of men. The applet is generated using Box2d physics library. The animation is captured at a slow frame rate (set in Box2d) due to Flash rendering abilities and then re-sped it in post production.
